  • Belasco Theatre, section: Orchestra R, row: F, seat: 14
    Maybe Happy Ending
Rush seat. Far side orchestra (especially Row E forward and the first few seats in from the side aisle) will have notably restricted sightlines due to the "boxed" structure of the set. The cast does a great job of acting downstage, but you will miss visual context in some scenes. This far to the side, even small distances make a difference. My partner sitting just one seat to the right missed things that I saw!

  • Mainstage at the New York City Center, section: Mezzanine R, row: J, seat: 4
    The Wild Party
Great seat. You can see most facial expressions and have lots of extra legroom with the walkway in front of you. Sound is generally very good, with front speakers nearby.

    The Wild Party
Great seat. You can see most facial expressions and have lots of extra legroom with the walkway in front of you (and being on the aisle). Sound is generally very good, with front speakers nearby.
  • F. Otto Haas Stage at the Arden, section: C, row: 12, seat: 4
    Romeo and Juliet
Third to last row, yet the view and sound are just fine. The stage design of this production is such that you can still see everything from nearly any seat in the theater. The cast makes use of the audience risers (including the balcony scene), so sitting up this high also has some benefits to seeing more of the action.
  • Walnut Street Theatre, section: Lower Mezzanine C, row: C, seat: 112
    A Delicate Balance
Nearly dead center with a perfect view of the stage. The only downside is that legroom is VERY limited, as the wall is right in front of you (think airline coach seat amount of legroom).

  • John Golden Theatre, section: Rear Mezzanine L, row: D, seat: 131
    Operation Mincemeat
Someone else's photo that was shared with me. First row of the Rear Mezzanine, all the way to the right, against the wall. Visually, this is probably the best "partial view" seat I have ever gotten. The depicted view is that of a 5' 7" person sitting up straight and leaning slightly forward. I literally missed nothing from the show. Acoustically, however, this is a fairly poor location. The theatre's sound design is such that I missed about 30% of the lyrics, as you are far enough from the stage and there are no nearby speakers.
  • Suzanne Roberts Theatre, section: Orchestra, row: I, seat: 7
    Julius Caesar
Aisle seat. There really is no bad seat in the middle-to-rear center orchestra, especially for this show. Sound and sightlines were perfect.
  • F. Otto Haas Stage at the Arden, section: C, row: 9, seat: 3
    King Hedley II
Great seat but to the side. Still close enough to have great sound and decent visuals, though.
  • Arcadia Stage at the Arden, section: Left, row: 4, seat: 15
    Good Bones
There are no bad seats at the Arcadia Stage! This is the second to last seat on the left, and I still felt completely immersed in the action. No problems at all with sound.
  • John Golden Theatre, section: Rear Mezzanine L, row: D, seat: 129
    Operation Mincemeat
3.5 stars. Visually, this is probably the best "partial view" seat I have ever gotten. The depicted view is that of a 5' 7" person sitting up straight and leaning slightly forward. • Mainstage at the New York City Center, section: Mezzanine L, row: J, seat: 3
    High Spirits
Wonderful seat. You can see nearly all facial expressions and have ton of extra legroom with the walkway in front of you. Not even the orchestra on the elevated platform is cut off (not always the case for this seat, depending on the show!). Sound is also excellent, with the speakers straight ahead.
  • Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, section: Orchestra C, row: Standing Room, seat: 6
    The Outsiders
If you don't mind standing/leaning for the duration of the show, this isnt a bad "seat" at all. Only about 2 minutes of dialogue takes place above the balcony overhang, and even then, you can duck/squat and see what's going on there. All the rest of the action is perfectly in view. Sound is decent, with missed lyrics being no likelier than if you were seated anywhere else.
  • Forrest Theatre, section: Orchestra R, row: K, seat: 20
    Clue: A New Comedy
Great view of the stage and actors, though the curtains block all of far stage left. The speakers are pointing straight at you, which could distort the sound balance. A solid rush seat, but I would never pay full price for this seat.

  • Delaware Theatre Company, section: Center, row: M, seat: 1
    Shrek The Musical
Last row of the center section, all the way to the right, on the aisle. Even this far back, the view is great, and you can see all facial expressions. If the actors don't enunciate clearly, it can be a bit hard to hear, but overall, the sound is fine.
  • Forrest Theatre, section: Orchestra C, row: Y, seat: 106
    Hadestown
Last row of the orchestra a bit right of center. View is actually bigger than depicted and does not feel that far away. You can still see nearly all facial expressions, and as long as the set isn't too tall, you won't miss much, if anything. Sound is surprisingly good, due to the solid speaker placement.

    The Girls of Summer
Great seat, but also there's no bad seat in the house!
